Client Testimonials
I have been a client of Ashley Elmes at Infinity Amatsu Clinic periodically for about three years. I have found it to be a hygienic and comfortable setting, with soothing background music. This together with Ashley’s continued explanation for each aspect of the treatment makes it a very relaxing and healing experience. The treatments I have received for arthritis, head and neck pain and poor sleep have reduced my pain level, improved my mobility and general sense of well-being. I would highly recommend the Ashley Elmes Amatsu Clinic.Jennifer Arthritis Treatment

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at 28 and have suffered chronic pain throughout my body for years. In March of 2022 I had major surgery ACDF (Anterior Cervical directory and fusion) I have been on every pain med on the market and I hate the way they make you feel. Not being able to drive after taking meds proves a problem. At my first appointment I could not get onto the bed without assistance. The simple task of turning over on the treatment table was a struggle as was sitting up. I had to have my legs supported with a pillow. I found the treatment very relaxing even though I was in pain. It is very therapeutic and I have even fallen asleep during it. Afterwards I feel like I'm walking on air. There is a distinct lightness in the body. Instant relief. Initially I went weekly and got fantastic results. Now I go every month for maintenance. No longer taking meds. That’s a plus. I feel very fortunate to have found Ashley. He is extremely gifted in his profession. He is very in tune with his patient and can detect when something is not right without even being told. I look forward to my appointment as I know I will come out literally walking on air.Beverly Back Pain Treatment
I went to Ashley with pain in my feet/ankles and knees and also an old injury in my shoulder. After only a couple of sessions I noticed a big difference in my mobility, flexibility and an overall reduction in the pain in my joints. With sessions every 4 to 6 weeks, I feel I can keep on top of my injuries and enjoy more freedom in my movements. I would highly recommend Amatsu.Dylan Injury and Joint pain

Amatsu Orthopathic Treatments (known as a balance) are suitable for people of all age groups and those with limited mobility.
Amatsu Orthopathic therapy can be used to treat many musculo-skeletal and lifestyle related conditions and to aid the restoration of well-being and good health. It also addresses the effects of stress on the body – namely physical, emotional and environmental factors. Treatments (balances) are suitable for people of all age groups and those with limited mobility. For a list of the most common conditions that can be helped please see the treatment – the benefits.
Most treatments are carried out fully clothed, you will only be asked to remove your shoes and possibly your belt. On occasion and with your permission, some clothing may be removed temporarily for a closer examination.
The Amatsu Orthopathic treatment, referred to as a “balance” takes between 35-40min. (45 min on the first visit and typically 35 min on subsequent visits)
On your first visit a detailed personal history will be taken. We will consider everything you say and give time to discuss your problem. We think it is important to put the pieces together so that we both have the fullest picture of how your body is coping. We believe that the people with the best knowledge about the problem are the clients themselves.
We will then assess your whole body using a combination of observation, Kinesiology, Orthopedic tests, palpation (touch) to gather further information about the current health status of your body.
After appraising your needs, we will start the balance using a combination of soft tissue techniques
The techniques utilised will range from the very gentle, to the more firm depending on the age, health and needs of the client. We will discuss with you how the different techniques work and why they are doing what they are doing. Amatsu practitioners are trained specifically to tailor your balance each and every time according to your needs on that day. They will regularly ask you for feedback as to your health and well-being in between balances and they will construct your balance around this, whilst always considering your medical history.
Many people feel very different as soon as they get off the treatment couch; others start to feel the changes over a couple of days. It is not unusual to feel a sense of freedom or to feel more upright. You may also feel relaxed and sleepy and notice your body standing and moving differently between treatments. Sometimes, as muscles let go of old injuries you may experience some achiness; drinking sufficient water and keeping mobile will help you process these symptoms. Please think of this as your body sorting out a new way of reacting to the changes. Reporting changes back to your practitioner will be a major benefit in your treatment structure.
For the 24-48 hours following your Amatsu Orthopathic Therapy balance, our general advice is to:
- Drink plenty of water
- Keep mobile e.g. have a brisk, short walk swinging your arms
- Avoid strenuous exercise
- Don’t overdo uncomfortable postures which may have contributed to your body’s problems e.g. sitting hunched over a computer keyboard or holding a telephone to your ear
- Go barefoot at home or where possible and avoid high heels
- Have a warm bath or shower
- Be kind to your body. Although gentle, Amatsu Orthopathic Therapy is asking your body to release lots of restrictions that it may have held for a very long time, so you may be quite tired
- Importantly, listen to your body – it will tell you what it needs
If your treatment has been in response to gastric, abdominal or immune system-based symptoms you may wish to try to avoid those foods that could commonly cause dehydration or that are commonly known to provoke stress reactions in the body (such as refined sugars, processed foods and caffeine base products.) This is in line with a normal healthy diet. If you have any questions or concerns following your treatment please contact your practitioner who will be able to discuss them with you.
Amatsu Orthopathic Therapy should not be used to replace medical treatment without consultation with your GP. If unsure, please consult your local Amatsu Orthopathic Therapy practitioner and your GP for advice.
The number and frequency of visits depends on a variety of factors. Each of the factors affects each person differently so every individual will need a different treatment structure. These are the most common factors:
- Is it an acute or chronic condition?
- Is it an acute condition with an underlying chronic cause?
- What is the general heath of the client?
- What other outside factors such as job and lifestyle need to be considered?
- Is there a specific time frame due to a forthcoming holiday or event?
We believe in educating our clients to take control of their own health. Many clients, once they have resolved their initial problem, return to maintain their health. Some come for a balance on a regular basis eg once a month, whilst others return as and when they feel a need. We aim to teach you to listen to and read the signs your body sends you. It is well known that ‘prevention is better than cure’.
A balance on regular basis may help you to prevent the everyday stresses of life from building up within your body.
There are a number of conditions where your practitioner would ask you to seek approval from your doctor before they would treat you. Please ensure that you advise your practitioner of any medical conditions or injuries. They will then tell you if further authorisation or information is required.
Please contact your local practitioner for full details of their pricing structure.
Amatsu Orthopathic Therapy is not only complementary to western medicine but to other complementary therapies so combining different treatments should not be a problem. It is important that you are transparent with this information and keep all practitioners involved fully informed.
